Lady Eagles break six-game winning streak

Hoop Queen among others rescheduled
Liberty High School has rescheduled Hoop Queen activities for Thursday, February 10 at the Eagle's Nest. Activities will take place at 5pm with the Lady Eagles playing Cuba followed by Hoop Queen activities and then a boys game against Houston.
Before weather interrupted the Eagles’ schedule, the Lady Eagles traveled to Salem on Monday, January 31 where the Lady Eagles had their first loss after a six-game winning streak. The Eagles fell 60-77 to the Tigers. Salem dominated the first quarter scoring 25 to Liberty's 12 points. Liberty turned the table in the second quarter scoring 17 to Salem's 9. Salem made a massive leap forward scoring 28 to Liberty's 12 in the third quarter and sealed their victory by scoring 15 to Liberty's 19 points in the fourth. For the game, Hadley Chowning (Fr) led the team with 17 points followed by Kenna Woolsey (Sr) and Abby Woolsey (Sr) scoring 11 points each, Lexi Shumpert (Sr) scored 9, Reagan Wells (So) scored 8, Chloe Kelts (Jr) and Lyla Cornman (Jr) scored 2 points each. Currently the Lady Eagles stand at 12-6 on the season.
Several games have been rescheduled for the Liberty Lady Eagles due to inclement weather.
The game that was scheduled for Thursday, February 3 in Thayer has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 8. The game scheduled for Friday, February 4 against Houston has yet to be rescheduled.
It’s a busy week of games for the Liberty Eagles next week. First off. the Lady Eagles will host Van Buren on Monday, February 7. Tuesday, February 8 is the make-up game at Thayer. Thursday, February 10 the Lady Eagles will host Cuba at 5pm. Afterwards Hoop Queen activities will take place and then the Liberty Boys Basketball will play Houston. The following Monday will be a home game on February 14 against Mountain Grove for the Lady Eagles.
