Lady Zizzers Swim and Dive compete at State

The Lady Zizzers competed at the MSHSAA Class 1 State Swim and Dive Championships on Thursday, Feb. 19 and Friday, Feb. 20 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Mo. They finished 28th out of more than 80 teams in Class 1.

 

Prelim Results (Top 16 advanced to Finals): 200 Medley Relay-Sally Serrano, Natalie Walker, Emily Ritter, and Lea Olswanger, 30th Place; 200 Freestyle-Roslyn Fiorino, tied for 8th, unfortunately lost in a swim-off at the end of the meet to determine Championship Final vs. Consolation Final, so she qualified Consolation Final; 200 Freestyle-Gwen Fiorino, 17th Place; 100 Butterfly-Penelope Autry, 32nd Place; 100 Freestyle-Roslyn Fiorino, 9th Place, advanced to Consolation Finals; 100 Freestyle-Gwen Fiorino, 23rd Place; 200 Freestyle Relay-Roslyn Fiorino, Gwen Fiorino, Lea Olswanger, and Penelope Autry, 16th Place, advanced to Consolation Finals; 100 Breaststroke-Penelope Autry, 22nd Place; 400 Freestyle Relay-Gwen Fiorino, Emily Ritter, Penelope Autry, and Roslyn Fiorino, 13th Place, advanced to Consolation Finals.

Consolation Finals Results, all earned All-State Honorable Mention and scored points for the team: 200 Freestyle-Roslyn Fiorino, 11th Place; 100 Freestyle-Roslyn Fiorino, 15th Place; 200 Freestyle Relay-Roslyn Fiorino, Gwen Fiorino, Lea Olswanger, and Penelope Autry, 16th Place; 400 Freestyle Relay-Gwen Fiorino, Emily Ritter, Penelope Autry, and Roslyn Fiorino, 13th Place.

 

The Lady Zizzers ended their season with a great representation at State after a third place finish at SWMO (4th straight top 3) and completing the 4-peat on Conference Championships.
