LHS softball’s roller coaster season

Liberty High School lady Eagles softball is 4-4 on the season so far. They have put up big numbers in wins verses Alton (21-4), Winona (18-3), Cabool (10-5), and Summersville (17-0). Liberty fell to Thayer (0-22) and Cabool (11-12) in the Cabool Softball Classic. They lost regular season games to Ava (2-11) and Houston (7-12). The Eagles look to face Willow Springs, Licking, and Ava this coming week, depending on field conditions from last weeks heavy rain.

 

In men’s sports, senior Gavin Reese pitched 5 innings against the Houston Tigers in Mountain View, striking out 10 batters for the Eagles. He earned 2 hits, scoring 1 run and 1 RBI. In the end, the varsity Eagles came up short, falling to the Tigers 3 to 9. Junior varsity walked away with the win, 6-1.
