One Win, One Loss for Lady Bears

The Lady Bears opened up the season with a tough game, facing the number 2 ranked team in Class 5: the West Plains Lady Zizzers. The Lady Bears scored first, and then never led again.  The size and length of the Lady Zizzers prevented any successful plays. The Lady Bears fell with a score of 67-22. Point leaders were Shae Riley with 4, Ashlyn Jones 3, and Liz Sheehan 3, and others with 2.
Game two was a different story. The Lady Bears traveled down 160 highway to Gainsville, where they would face off with the Lady Bulldogs. The first quarter was fairly close and ended with the Lady Bears up 9-4. In the second quarter, the Lady Bears changed the game with a combination of defense and great shooting.
Ashlyn Jones took over with some hot shooting after scoring 12 in the second quarter alone, and the Lady Bears led at the half 27-9. The game was never in question afterwards as the Lady Bears rolled to a victory with the final score of 68-25. Point leaders were Ashlyn Jones with 28, Liz Sheehan with 11, and Keena Lowe with 9.
