Season Ends for Willow Springs Youth Soccer

The Willow Springs Soccer Organization's Fall Season came to an end the last week of October. There were eight teams this year with 99 players, ages 3 1/2 to 17, registered.
“This was our largest turn out since we started in the fall of 2019.  We would like to thank Lou Wehmer and the Willow Springs Development Corporation for allowing our organization to use the soccer fields. Also, we would like to thank our present and past donors for their monetary contributions: Waggoner True Value, Quincey Hatch, Eugene Belinskiy, Wendell Bailey, and also Lakeland Pharmacy #7 for hosting a Carwash Fundraiser that raised $300 for our organization.  We also would like to extend our thanks to those that volunteered to help keep our fields mowed, Ty and Michelle Lewis, John Oravec, Joy Martin and Preston Martin, Chad Odle,” said organizer Becky Shanks.
The organization is looking ahead now to the spring season, and Shanks says youth soccer needs the community's help.
“We are in need of monetary donations for field maintenance, as well as field sponsors, team sponsors, referees, coaches, volunteers to run concessions and help with fundraising ideas.  It takes a lot of work to keep this running but the end result is worth it,” she explained.
She also had a word of thanks for the volunteer coaches, “Without you there would have been no season.”
