Liberty High School is known for excellent football and volleyball programs, and a competitive basketball program but the LHS Student Council felt like their Spring sports programs didn't get the attention they deserved. These students took action and hosted their very first Spring Fling Spirit Week. They hosted dress up days during the week leading up to a pep rally to close the festivities. This pep rally included games for both students and teachers, including a classic favorite, musical chairs. The student council gave recognition to all athletes and coaches competing in spring activities such as track, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, and even the trap team. The students crowned their very first Spring Fling King and Queen -- freshmen Matthew Bushong and Jade Acklin.
There were no softball scheduled this week, and Liberty baseball had to cancel their one game due to illness.
The tennis team competed in their match against the Licking Wildcats at the Mountain View Tennis Courts. The Eagles took the victory over Licking 9-0, leaving them 2-3 on the season.
