Undefeated Eagles win again

Friday night's contest between the Liberty Eagles and the Cabool Bulldogs followed a pattern synonymous with Eagle football this year. Liberty scored early and often and used big plays to suffocate Cabool's offense.
Less than a minute into the game, Liberty struck first on a three-yard run by Carter Pruett. The touchdown was set up by a 46-yard pass from Pruett to Gavin Reese. Drew Ripko's kick made it 7-0.
The Bulldog's opening drive looked promising before Ripko tipped a Cabool pass on fourth-and-five from the Liberty 11-yard line to end the series.
Adrien Pendegraft came up with a touchdown on the Eagle's next possession, with a 17-yard reception from Pruett.
Things just got worse for Cabool when the Eagles recovered a Bulldog fumble on the kickoff. Reese punched in the Liberty score from just five yards out.
After a Cabool punt, Reese hit Ripko with a 34-yard strike to take a 27-0 lead early in the second quarter.
Owen Casper got Cabool on the board in the way of a 47-yard fumble recovery for a Bulldog score. The two-point conversion was no good.
With 4:19 left in the first half, Liberty's Pruett threw to Ripko for a 15-yard scoring play. Reese ran in the two-point try and Liberty held the 35-6 halftime lead.
After stopping the Bulldog's offense, Kal Acklin and the Eagles scored from seven yards out with a reception from Pruett.
A good play by Cabool's Austin Daniels ended Liberty's next possession when he jumped in front of an Eagle pass for the interception.
Momentum didn't last long for Cabool, however, as Liberty's defense held their own again and forced a Bulldog punt.
Gavin Reese took a snap from mid-field and weaved his way through the Bulldog defense for a 50-yard score.
Reese scored again from one-yard out on Liberty's next drive.
Cabool's Owen Casper and Liberty 's Parker Tune would add touchdown runs for their respective teams to make up the final score 61-14.
Next week, the 7-0 Liberty Eagle's head to Dent County and try to remain unbeaten as they clash with the Salem Tigers.
