Willow runners compete in the SCA Cross Country Challenge

The Willow Springs Cross Country Club recently competed in the SCA Cross Country Challenge at the Willow Springs Municipal Golf Course on Monday, Oct. 10.
The Willow Springs boys team took first place with a score of 21, followed by Houston in second with a score of 45, Salem in third with a score of 64 and Cabool in fourth with a score of 84.
Varsity Boys 5K, where the top 15 were named All-Conference:
Carson Smith in first place with a time of 17:26.12 (tied SCA record); Matthew Miller in second with a time of 18:09.22; Nolan Perkins in third with a time of 18:34.25; Tristan Silva in fifth with a time of 18;50.25; Simon Bolander in 11th with a time of 19:54.91; Aaron Gray in 25th with a time of 22:36.56; and Jeven Poyner in 33rd with a time of 24:53.47.
Varsity Girls 5K, where the top 15 were named All Conference:
Hailey-Jade Unurh in first place with a time of 22:16.15; and Kylie Smith in 20th with a time of 27:50.34.
7th-8th Grade Boys 2.5K, where the top 10 medaled: 
Joel Smith in first place with a time of 8:46.66; Jaron Poyner in fifth place with a time of 10:14.18; and Bo Wilson in 24th place with a time of 17:04.94.
7th-8th Grade Girls 2.5K, where the top 10 medaled:
Sydney Lumby in second place with a time of 10:40.38; Kaylee Woolsey in fourth place with a time of 10:57.28; and Shaylin Woolsey in sixth place with a time of 11:08.84.
5th-6th Grade Boys 2.5K, where the top 10 medaled:
Adam Fursov came in 10th place with a time of 12:19.46.
5th-6th Grade Girls 2.5k, where the top 10 medaled:
Janessa Cunningham came in fourth place with a time of 12:11.78.
