Willow Springs Cross Country runners compete at Cuba Invitational

The Willow Springs Cross Country team recently competed at the Cuba Invitational held on Wednesday, Oct. 5 in Cuba.
The Varsity boys team took first place with 48 points followed by Waynesville with 52, Steeleville with 56, Bismarck with 83, Missouri Military Academy with 105 and Lighthouse Preparatory Academy with 164.
Varsity boys individual results for the 5K where the top 15 medaled were: Carson Smith in second place with a time of 17:14.50; Matthew Miller in 8th place with a time of 18:10.60; Nolan Perkins in 11th place with a time of 18:21.60; Tristan Silva in 16th place with a time of 18:43.10; Jeven Poyner in 31st place with a time of 20:06.40; and Aaron Gray in 53rd place with a time of 22:40.20.
The Varsity girls individual results for the 5K where the top 15 medaled were: Hailey-Jade Unruh in fourth place with a time of 22:17.20; and Kylie Smith in 20th place with a time of 26:26.40.
The Junior High boys results for the 1.5 mile run where the top 15 medaled were: Joel Smith in first place with a time of 8:41.60; Jaron Poyner in 13th place with a time of 10:16.90; Bo Wilson in 55th place with a time of 15:47.20.
The Junior High girls results for the 1.5 mile run where the top 15 medaled were: Shaylin Woolsey in 5th place with a time of 10:29.70; Kaylee Woolsey in 8th place with a time of 10:36.90; and Sydney Lumby in 13th place with a time of 10:50.80.
