Zizzer swimmer places at State

Zizzer Swim Coach Ryan Smith and Caleb Kentner, a junior at West Plains, pose for the camera after Kentner placed 26th in the Missouri State Diving Championships in St. Peters last Saturday, November 16. Kentner’s diving talent was noticed by Coach Smith during a break from the heat for the lifeguards at the West Plains outdoor pool in the summer of 2023. “I was just goofing around and doing tricks off the board. When the manager saw me, he recruited me to the diving team on the spot.” Coach Smith was that pool manager and the rest is history. Kentner qualified and placed 31st last year as a sophomore.
