Zizzer Wrestling Update

Zizzer Wrestling wrapped up the regular season this week with matches at home against Hillcrest and on the road at the St. Clair Tournament on January Saturday, January 25.
In girls’ competition, Ashley Nix pinned her opponent at the West Plains match and went 1-3 on Saturday for a 4th place finish. Edie Hart also finished 4th as did Izzy Smith. Madyson Melvin placed 7th in the 105-pound class.
The Zizzer boys’ team had four winners in their match-ups on Monday against Hillcrest: Tristan Powell, Eli Ryan, Colten McGuire, and Burk Hopkins.
At the St. Clair Tournament the Zizzer boys placed as follows: JT Judd, 5th place at 106 pounds; Xarian Richardson, 4th place at 120 pounds; Tristan Powell, 6th place at 126 pounds; Enric Carbonell Fuste, 10th place at 144 pounds; Colten McGuire, 1st place at 150 pounds; Trevor Dickson, 7th place at 165 pounds; Burk Hopkins, 8th place at 175 pounds, and Chris Goodwin, 5th place at 285 pounds.
The Zizzer girls and the boys’ junior varsity team will compete in the Ozark Mountain Conference tournament on January 31. The varsity boys team will wrestle in the same OMC tournament on February 1.
