University of Missouri Extension in Howell County is offering a Spring Pasture Walk on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Picking Ranch, located on State Route AD.
Dr. Sarah Kenyon, MU Extension Agronomy Specialist will be discussing pasture weed and forage identification and control. Elizabeth Picking, MU Extension Livestock specialist will discuss and demonstrate how to start rotationally grazing with temporary electric fencing.
Elizabeth and Daniel Picking purchased Picking Ranch in 2020 and have continued to work at improving the small farm which was run-down after many years of neglect. They both agree that rotationally grazing and controlling their weeds has drastically improved their pastures in a few short years.
Water will be provided. This event is free, but registration is required as parking is limited. For more information, or to register call the Howell County Extension Center at 417-256-2391 or go online to: https://extension.missouri.edu/events/spring-pasture-walk
