Toys For Tots Concert To Be Held at The Barn Event Center

The Toys for Tots Christmas Concert will be held December 3-4 at The Barn Event Center, located at 10105 Highway 63, West Plains.
This two-night celebration traditionally helps kick off the Christmas season, helping make Christmas merry by raising toys for boys and girls in our area. It has become one of the favorite events of the Christmas season for area residents. This year’s program will feature an outstanding gathering of talent from right here in the Ozarks, as well as singers and musicians from Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. The program is presented through the combined efforts of the United States Marine Corp League, and local television station K36NN TV, Channel 36.
The concert will include traditional Christmas songs, as well as some brand-new Christmas songs, written by songwriters from right here in the Ozarks. Bluegrass, country, contemporary and traditional Christmas music will be performed on a stage with over two dozen lighted Christmas trees. The price of admission is one new toy (unwrapped) for a child, or a donation at the door.
Among the singers scheduled to appear on this year’s program are Barbara Fairchild & Roy Morris, The Mattingly Family, Mary Fay Jackson, Dan Duncan and the TV 36 Band, Stringed Union, The Howell Family, Paul Winchester, The Tiptons, Ava Kasich, The Waymasters, Elizabeth DeShane, Ray Epperson, Polly Carrell, Reborn, Jim Sheldon, Bev McCann, Rachael Taylor, and many more. The talent will be varied each night, some artists will be singing both nights.
Toys collected will benefit children living in Howell County, and immediately surrounding counties, according to Dan Duncan, organizer of the event. Those toys will be received at the door and dispersed by the United States Marine Corp League.
The public is welcome to attend both nights of this family event. Programs begin at 6:30 pm each evening. For additional information, call 417-372-1129.
