MVGC Donates Plants to New R-III Teachers

Twenty-two recently hired teachers in the Mountain View-Birch Tree District were welcomed to the community at a breakfast meeting and orientation on Monday, August 16 at the Middle School gymnasium. They were each given a houseplant for their classroom by the Mountain View Garden Club. This is a long term project of the club. Members Erma Martin and June Creasy chaired the event. June spoke to the group and said "The strength of the community lies in education. We appreciate our teachers."
Recently hired for the 2021-2022 school year at MV Elementary were Dawn Gastineau, Elizabeth Robertson, Kameron Thomas and Rebecca Smotherman. Kendra Smith will serve as the Early Childhood Special Education instructor. Liberty Middle School will welcome Dustin Tinsley, Nora Triplett, Anna Leuhrs and Kathleen Zimmerman.  Birch Tree Elementary will see Kimberley Smotherman, Autumn Millard, Hall Marshall, Jessie Henry, Lisa Holmes and Gabe White.  Erica Spittler, Zane Johnson, Alexander Medina, Karen Holter, Kathleen Scheer, Elaine Ennis and KristyReese will be the newly hired teachers at Liberty High School.  
The MVGC wishes all newly hired teachers and experienced ones a wonderful and productive school year.
