No Election Necessary for MVBT School Board

Meeting TOMORROW January 20
Only two candidates have filed for the two vacant seats on the R-III Mountain View-Birch Tree School Board: Mikael Orchard and Josh Roberts. The School Board is expected to certify these results of the filing period, which ended on December 28, and to advise the County Clerks that no election will be necessary. An official announcement should follow from the school district once this decision is certified to the election authority.
At the meeting on January 20, the Board will review and revise the Safe Return to School Plan. It is expected that the revisions will adhere to the recently changed CDC guidelines regarding isolation after COVID-19 infection.
Another item of new business on the agenda is “Goals, Objectives, and Parameters for Negotiations with MVBT Bus Drivers," which is a yearly task of the school board.
The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Birch Tree Elementary School Media Center.
