R-IV Sets Tax Levy

A public hearing to set the tax rate for the 2021-2022 school year took place immediately prior to the August School Board meeting. No public comment was recorded, but Superintendent Bill Hall shared that the total value of real and personal property valuation for the three counties that span the school district (Howell, Texas, and Douglas) adds to $87,432,020.
During the regular meeting, Brent Colley made a motion to set the district operating levy at the state-regulated minimum rate of $2.75 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation, with all $2.75 going into the incidental fund and zero in teachers, debt service, and capital improvements funds. Dean Aye seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
