Senior at Koshkonong signs letter of intent

Autumn Young, a senior and daughter of David and Crystal Young of Koshkonong, has signed a National Letter of Intent, and an athletic scholarship agreement to attend Midway University in Midway, KY. Young will continue her career as a competitive swimmer. Young spoke with several schools and coaches, and after much consideration decided to join the Eagles for the 2023-2024 school year. As a homeschool student with a 4.0 GPA, Young accepted the top academic scholarship at Midway University.
Young swam competitively year-round from the age of eight. She began swimming with the AquaHawgs swim club in Springdale, AR, and joined the West Plains Waves swim club after her family moved to Missouri five years ago. “Swimming in college has been a goal of Autumn’s since she was 10 years old. We are very proud of her commitment and hard work to achieve this goal,” said her father and coach, David Young.
Midway Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach Maria Steakley said, “Autumn's breaststroke and freestyle are great. She will be an amazing addition to the team, as we are still growing and building a team culture. She is going to contribute to that with her dedication and work ethic. I am looking for athletes that can help us build a great community, and with that we can be successful in the next few years.”
Young plans on majoring in pre-law and business at Midway University.
