West Plains Schools is proud to announce the appointments of two experienced and dedicated educational leaders to key roles within the district: Seth Bryant as Coordinator of At-Risk Services and ZPA Director, and Camisha Hunter as Assistant Principal at West Plains Middle School.
Seth Bryant brings a wealth of administrative experience and a strong background in student support and leadership. With a career spanning classroom teaching, building administration, and district-level leadership, Bryant most recently served as Superintendent of the Oregon-Howell R-III School District. In that role, he oversaw district operations, managed budgets, led staff development, and worked collaboratively with the Board of Education on major initiatives, including successful bond projects to improve school facilities.
"Seth Bryant's years of experience in school administration bring a level of leadership and perspective that will directly benefit our students and staff," said Dr. Wesley Davis, Superintendent of West Plains R-VII Schools. "His extensive time serving in administrative roles has prepared him well to lead at-risk services and the Zizzer Pride Academy with both skill and compassion."
Bryant's earlier experience includes serving as an assistant principal at West Plains Middle School, where he implemented systems to support student achievement, helped establish positive behavior initiatives, and worked closely with staff to enhance school culture. His passion for supporting students, particularly those in need of additional guidance and resources, aligns strongly with his new role overseeing at-risk services and the Zizzer Pride Academy (ZPA).
Camisha Hunter joins the West Plains Middle School administrative team as Assistant Principal, bringing 24 years of educational experience and a deep commitment to student success. Throughout her career at South Fork Elementary, Hunter has demonstrated exceptional instructional leadership, strong relationship-building skills, and a dedication to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
"Camisha Hunter has been a valued and consistent presence in our district for many years," said Dr. Wesley Davis, superintendent of West Plains R-VII Schools. "Her longevity with West Plains Schools speaks to her dedication, her strong relationships with students and families, and her unwavering commitment to helping students succeed."
Hunter is known for her consistent and fair approach to discipline, her ability to connect with students and families, and her commitment to high expectations paired with empathy. In addition to her classroom leadership, she has taken on building-level responsibilities, mentored fellow educators, and contributed to curriculum development and school improvement efforts.
Beyond the district, Hunter also serves on the Missouri Advisory Council of Certification for Educators, where she collaborates with state leaders to help shape policies and standards for educator preparation and certification.
West Plains Schools looks forward to the leadership, vision, and dedication both Bryant and Hunter will bring as they begin their new roles beginning July 1, 2026.
