Christmas Story writing contest

Love to write? Always dreamed of being in the paper? Write a story! 
 
Howell County News is hosting the Third Annual Christmas Story writing contest. The contest is open to all middle-school students in Howell County, including homeschoolers and private school students. The News will award cash prizes for Best Overall Story, Best Writing, Best Adventure, and Best Religious Theme, and possibly other prizes.
 
Rules: 
1. The contest to open to all middle-school-aged children who reside in a school district in Howell County, including homeschoolers and private school pupils. 
2. Entries must be Christmas-themed and will be judged by a panel of judges: HCN Publisher Amanda Mendez, HCN founder Kim Rich, MVBT School Board member Shelly Mantel, and MSU-WP Chancellor Zora Mulligan. 
3. There are guaranteed to be prizes for Best Overall Story ($100), Best Writing ($50), Best Adventure ($50), and Best Religious Theme ($50), and additional prizes may be awarded.
4. Winners receive their cash prize and will have their stories and photos printed in the paper. 
5. Entries must be 800 words or less. 
6. Entries must be received by December 19 at 5:00 p.m. Entries may be submitted electronically to marsha@howellcountynews.com, or sent by mail or in person to 110 West Main, Willow Springs 65793. 
7. Entries must include the student's name, school (or city of residence), and grade.
