The Avenue Theatre announces the production of "The Game" to be performed September 20, 21 and 22. Joy Pace, Vice President of the Board of Directors for The Arts on the Avenue with the Historic Avenue Theatre, explained that the performance is a suicide awareness production. Pace has partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (Missouri Chapter) for the project.
"The Game", written by Louise Bryant, follows an ancient contest in which the characters of "Life" and "Death" compete for the living. The subjects are "Youth" and "The Girl", who have both met at the edge of a cliff where they have separately come to end their lives because of unhappiness. However, "Life" wins this game and proves that it is worth choosing.
All tickets can be purchased online through the Avenue Theatre at http://theavenuetheatre.org or at the box office on show dates. Anyone 60 or older can purchase tickets for half price at the box office.
