The Mountain View Summer Reading

The Mountain View Summer Reading is in full swing for June through July 16. Swing by the library and sign your child up for summer reading. They can also complete a scavenger hunt for a small prize.
Reading is still the number one reason for the summer reading program. Kids read for prizes and there are many new books available for checkout on several different reading levels.
Most activities meet twice, once at 10:30 a.m. and again at 3:30 p.m. This allows more families to participate in summer reading activities.
Mondays is hands-on science experiments, building and a look at simple electronics.
Tuesdays is “Let it Grow” with Belle Frescoln. Plants seeds, weed the garden and make fun gardening crafts.
Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. is story time for preschoolers. Wednesday afternoons Take and Make craft bags are available to take home and make with your kids. Everything is in the bag needed to make the craft, instructions and book recommendations are included.
June 23 is making a poster for Stream Team. Supplies provided by Stream Team.
June 30 the Stream Team water table is here. This is a great way for kids to learn about Ozark waterways and how to preserve the streams.
Thursdays Cooking for Kids at 10:00 a.m. for ages 7 and up. Kids learn to read a recipe, learn measurements, use the oven and how to chop vegetables safely. They will also learn why cleaning up after cooking is important.
Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. is game time for ages 6 and up. Come in for games, snacks and fun.
