The Friends of the Thomasville Community Center look forward to a fundraising Christmas Bazaar to be held Friday, Nov. 18, and Saturday, Nov. 19. First held in 2017, the bazaar has become a primary fundraiser to support ongoing maintenance and operational costs of the community center.
The 2022 Christmas Bazaar promises to offer a wide variety of holiday décor, merchandise, and food. Rather than offering goods from multiple vendors, the Thomasville Christmas Bazaar presents items that are created in-house and derived from within their community. Blending new, and sometimes gently used materials, a multitude of Christmas wreaths, centerpieces and other hand-crafted items will be available to purchase in a gift-shop setting. There is a good selection of Christmas trees in all sizes, from one foot to seven foot tall. Additionally, some flea market finds and a selection of small furniture and will be available.
Community members have worked together to create a Christmas themed, queen-size quilt, which will be given away at the conclusion of the event. Donation tickets are currently on sale at the R & R Restaurant and the library in Thomasville or from bazaar committee members. The drawing will be held on Saturday, shortly before the close of the Bazaar.
A T-shirt featuring a Christmas motif will be available for purchase during the event. A dessert bar, baked foods, soup and chili will be offered in the kitchen of the community center where shoppers can enjoy some of the finest tastes of Thomasville. The morning hours will also offer biscuits and gravy for the early shoppers.
Tshe heating system in the gymnasium of the building has been replaced, and the Bazaar will be held in that location. This was a final major restoration expense incurred following the 2017 flood. Proceeds from the Bazaar will be applied to on-going operational costs of the building.
The Thomasville Christmas Bazaar will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, and 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19. Please join for two opportunities for shopping, food, and fellowship with neighbors, friends, and other shoppers. For questions or other information, please call 417-764-3334.
