Respect MO Voters Coalition is hosting a town hall to, “Ban Politicians from Attacking the Will of the People” on Friday, March 28 at 4:00 p.m. This interactive town hall will take place at the West Plains Public Library. Registration is available online, but not required. The meeting seeks to gather citizen input for a Missouri Constitutional Amendment opposing legislative efforts at initiative petition reform.
The cross-partisan group will hold at least 25 town halls across Missouri to gather as much citizen input as possible before drafting a constitutional amendment they plan to add to the November 2026 Missouri ballot. The amendment will ban politicians from interfering with initiatives that voters have already passed, attacking citizens' ability to use the initiative process, and using misleading language on ballots to manipulate voters.
Friday’s event will include a short presentation by Lindsay Browning of the Respect MO Voters Coalition. Attendees will be asked for their input through a survey and open conversation. Organizers will also share information on how attendees can get more involved with the coalition.
