41 Active COVID Cases in Howell County

Howell County Health Department reported on July 24 that the year-to-date total of COVID-19 cases in Howell County is ninety.  Forty-one cases are on active status or on isolation as of press time; five cases are currently hospitalized with COVID related complications. Contact tracing has been completed on all cases and significant contacts to all have been notified by the health department. Cases of community spread in lieu of direct contact are on the rise. Nine of the ten new cases reported Friday are thought to have arisen from community spread. 
Symptoms of COVID may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
-Fever or chills
-Cough
-Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
-Fatigue
-Muscle or body aches
-Headache
-New loss of taste or smell
-Sore throat
-Congestion or runny nose
-Nausea or vomiting
-Diarrhea
