9-1-1 director resigns

Howell County 9-1-1 Director Robbie Crites offered his resignation to the Board of Directors during the Feb. 6 meeting. 

“The Howell County 9-1-1 Board of Directors regrettably accepted the resignation of Robbie Crites as Howell County 9-1-1 Director,” the board commented in a statement. “However, we understand his decision and support him fully. The board appreciates his time as director and his vision to continually improve the county’s 9-1-1 services. We fully support Robbie in his future endeavors.”

“I've had a couple other opportunities that aren't 24/7 public safety-related positions, and I just feel that would be best for me and my family,” Crites told Howell County News. “As some know I had heart surgery in late 2021, and I am doing very well, but it's time for a change of pace. I've appreciated my time serving as a peace officer, being elected Sheriff, working with Judge Privette, and treatment courts as well as the 911 position. [I’ve] made a lot of lifetime friends and hopefully have had a positive impact on a few people.”
