Aldermen meet to finalize loan

The Board of Aldermen for the city of Mountain View met in special session on Feb. 22. The agenda contained only three items.
First, the aldermen considered an ordinance authorizing the city to enter into a lease-purchase transaction with Central Trust Bank and the Missouri Association of Municipal Utilities. The ordinance passed with a unanimous vote of three. Aldermen Lindell Vandevort, Murray Anderson, and Laura Wagner voted in favor. Alderman Punkie Stevenson was absent.
The aldermen previously discussed and approved the financial arrangements for this loan to make repairs and upgrades to electrical infrastructure downtown at the regular meeting.
Second on the agenda was the appointment of a replacement member to the planning and zoning board. Mayor John Krasuski explained that a sitting member of the board had resigned. Mayor Krasuski nominated Carlos (Alex) Hernandez for the planning and zoning board. Alderwoman Wagner moved to accept the nomination. Hernandez was approved by unanimous vote.
Finally, the alderman passed an ordinance amending Chapter 70, which governs the fire department fees. According to the draft minutes of the meeting, the city clerk explained that prices the department charges to respond to accidents and fires will not change, but the update is routinely required for billing purposes.
With no further items on the agenda, the meeting adjourned thirteen minutes after it had begun.
