Birch Tree Man Airlifted to STL after Crash

Jerry Prewett, 48, of Birch Tree, was seriously injured after a single vehicle crash on January 5. Prewett’s Dodge Ram ran off the right side of the road and struck a telephone pole on Lindsey Rd. in Winona at 4:50 p.m. Prewett was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence, but was released for medical treatment. He was airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis for treatment. There were no passengers in the vehicle and no other motorists involved. Prewett was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
