Bring a photo ID to the polls

A new law will require Missouri voters to present photo identification to vote on Nov. 8. Signed into law by Governor Mike Parson in August, the statute did not affect the August Primary. It will be in effect for next week's general election.
Examples of an acceptable government-issued photo ID for Tuesday's election include: a current Missouri driver's license or state ID, a current military ID, a veteran ID card, a current U.S. passport, or any other unexpired form of photo ID issued by the U.S. government or the State of Missouri. Out of state driver's licenses, utility bills, bank statements, student IDs, and voter ID cards are no longer acceptable as voter identification.
Voters who show up at the polls without a valid photo ID will still be able to cast a provisional ballot. To ensure the provisional ballot is counted, voters can return to the polls before they close at 7:00 p.m. with an acceptable for of ID. Otherwise, election officials can compare the signature on the provisional ballot with the signature on the individual's voter registration. Matching signatures on the two documents will validate the ballot, and the vote will be counted.
Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 8
