Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Implements New 911 System

As of December 7, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has implemented the first phase of the new 911 system.
When an individual calls 911 from a mobile device within Douglas County, their location will appear on the map with their number and any other information made available by the caller.
Apple iOS users will be able to enter emergency and medical information into the device which will appear when you call 911.
Calls made from an Android device will still show a location on the map.
This system is used currently for pinpointing your location when using a wireless device like a cell phone, so it is not yet available for landlines.
