An American flag waving in the wind, the insignia of a Navy group referred to as ‘The Seabees,’ and a kneeling veteran are the focus of Willow’s newest downtown mural.
This 8’x36’ vinyl-wrapped aluminum mural on the side of Coulter’s Heating and Cooling building in Willow Springs “has received many compliments,” says Michael Smith. Coulter’s owner Michael Smith is the mind behind the design.
“As a veteran myself, I came up with the idea of this design to pay tribute and show my patriotism” said Smith.
Smith had a local professional of Ozark Mountain Signs and Neon bring his idea to life in the heart of Willow Springs.
“The insignia is my very own Navy patch. We are the ‘engineers’ of the Navy,” says Smith.
The Seabees, also known as ‘Construction Battalion’ were founded in 1942.
“I wanted to add my own touch” commented Smith.
The mural was put up in Dec. 2022 and fully completed with a border on Jan. 20.
