Josiah Howell Chapter Sons of the American Revolution presents medal
On September 12 The Josiah Howell Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented Cathy Roberts, a member of the Ozark Spring Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Lydia Darragh Medal. Darragh was an American who discovered valuable information that helped the Patriot effort during the Revolutionary War that greatly helped win independence and establish our great country. Roberts is very instrumental in helping JHSAR educate and inform young Americans and others in the history of the culture during the Revolutionary War. She provides period appropriate clothing and props when JHSAR delivers the history of the War to schools and other gatherings in the community. Roberts models the clothing and explains the various traits that our forefathers possessed to survive and engage in the war effort. The medal was presented at the JHSAR third annual picnic by the MOSSAR State President Ken Lawrence. The Picnic was held at Galloway Park in West Plains.
