Man, 20, dies in crash near Mtn. Grove

A Mountain View man did not survive a single-vehicle crash last Tuesday. Riley Pickard, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene by Wright County Coroner Ben Hurtt. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Riley was driving southbound on Highway 95 twelve miles north of Mountain Grove when his vehicle travelled off the right-hand side of the road and struck an embankment. The driver was ejected. The crash reports shows Pickard was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.

The accident occurred at 4:40 p.m., and the coroner pronounced him at 4:46 p.m. This is Troop G's 28th fatality in 2022, compared to 30 at this time in 2021.
