Missing Mtn. View woman found deceased

What began with a police report on Monday, Sept. 25, and then a Facebook plea from family members ended in tragedy on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
The Mountain View Police Department issued an Endangered Person Advisory on Tuesday, Sept. 26, for Effie Maxine Holden, age 93, of Mountain View, after she was unable to be located. She reportedly had pre-existing conditions for which she may not have had medication. Holden was last seen in the Willow Springs area at the Dollar Tree and Town & Country Supermarket. Holden was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla.
Family members posted on Facebook in hopes of drawing community support to search for Holden. The Mountain View Police Department, Willow Springs Police Department, Howell County Sheriff's Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol were all involved in the search. Numerous community members, family, and friends shared the Facebook post, drove around or were on foot searching for Holden.
The Endangered Person Advisory was cancelled on Tuesday, Sept. 26, after the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle accident at Business 60/63, 1 mile east of Willow Springs. According to reports, Holden travelled off the left side of the roadway striking a road sign and a tree before coming to a final rest. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Howell County Coroner Michael Pauly at 2:56 p.m. The accident was investigated by Trooper J.J. Smith.
The Mountain View Police Department would like to thank all agencies involved for their support to locate Holden. The MVPD extends their deepest gratitude to the community for their help in this matter and for their continued support to the family of Holden during this difficult time.
