After years of mayoral turnover, Mountain View has a duly-elected mayor in Donnie Pruett. Pruett received 43.35% of the vote, compared to his next closest competitor, John Krasuski, who received 38.83% of the 376 votes cast.
Aldermen in Wards 1 and 2 ran unopposed. Judi Colter and Ellie Carson, respectively, took their seats on Monday, June 8.
In the West Ward, Punkie Stevenson dominated the contest with 121 votes, compared to Tom Poindexter’s 53, and Rick Thornton’s 27 votes.
Finally, the $6 million municipal bond issue passed by a landslide. With 283 citizens voting ‘yes’, and only 90 voting ‘no.’
