National Assisted Living Week at Willow Care

The week of September 14, was declared National Assisted Living Week. Even though Willow Care Nursing Home and Willow West Apartments were on the virus “lockdown,” Jackie Kell, Manager of Willow West Apartments, informed the Willow West residents that they would celebrate the week with various senior games followed with old-time treats, homemade cinnamon rolls, banana splits, and ice cream floats. 

On Thursday evening, the residents were entertained by the Sharry Lovan Band, playing bluegrass and gospel music. The social distancing was followed with Sharry’s band sitting in the parking lot with the residents on the patio, properly distanced. 

Friday evening was a pizza party. The virus did not stop the seniors from partying on Assisted Living Week. No counting calories this week.
