North Fork Recreation Area to Open this Summer

The new watercraft launch at North Fork Recreation Area will be open for users this summer.  This project will enhance user safety, as it will provide a waterplay area separate from where watercraft are launched.

 

On December 1, the North Fork Recreation Area closed for the season, with the gate at CC Highway locked.  The Day Use portion of the area will open March 1, ,and the campground will open May 1, 2021. The Ava/Cassville/Willow Springs (ACW) Ranger District is searching for a volunteer host at the North Fork campground for the 2021 season. The ACW Ranger District office in Ava, located at1006 South Jefferson, continues to follow guidelines to promote public health.  Staff at the office are assisting visitors by telephone whenever possible or meeting them outdoors when in-person interaction is needed.  Access into the buildings is limited and a mask must be worn.  Please reach out Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with any questions at 417-683-4428.  In recognition of Christmas Day, the Ava and Cassville offices will be closed on December 25.
