Protected left turn coming to Mountain View

The Mountain View Board of Aldermen meeting on July 14 started off with guest speaker Jonathan Smith with MoDOT (Missouri Department of Transportation), addressing the stop lights on Highway 60. A protected left turn from Highway 60 onto Elm St. will be incorporated and is planned to be in place before August 18. 

 

The board approved and hired a new financial consultant, Jeana Woods, from Interim Solutions. The city has a three-month contract for her to work 20 hours per week, and she will be doing forensic auditing to clean up the books.

 

The board heard from Betty Hockman on behalf of the Jack’s Fork Community Foundation. An anonymous donation of $96,432 has been entrusted to the foundation to be used for street repair in addition to the city’s budget, specifically for the Country Meadows community. The foundation will hold onto the money until repairs begin.

 

The board will be meeting again during a special session on July 24 at 4:30 p.m. to complete postponed items on the July 14 agenda.

- Approved K9 program for the police department

- Opened and accepted propane fuel bid from Mountain View Oil Company
