On Monday August 3, 2020 the Missouri Office of Homeland Security launched a new tool to instantly report suspicious activity. The tool is a mobile app called SafeNation and will allow citizens to submit anonymous reports which pertain to potentially suspicious activity observed, known, or suspected.
The initiative will enhance Missouri’s partnership with the United States Department of Homeland Security’s “See Something Say Something” campaign. Awareness is a vital role in preventing threats in Missouri and our community. Expressed or implied threats, unusual surveillance, unusual weapons collections, and cyberattacks are all examples of suspicious activity which can be reported on SafeNation.
The SafeNation app can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store or Google Play. The West Plains Police Department would like to share this information with the community and asks the community for assistance in fighting crime. If you see something, say something.
