Semi Truck Knocked out Utility Pole in Mtn View

A semi-truck turning into the parking lot at Greg’s Auto Body caught an overhead electrical wire but continued to drive. The force pulled on the wire and ultimately snapped the pole. The incident occurred at 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, September 10. 
Officer Charles Brown of the Mountain View Police Department responded to the scene and was later joined by Police Chief Jamie Perkins. The officers secured the scene. The police department confirmed in a phone interview that there will be no criminal charges filed against the operator of the semi truck. 
The electric department for the City of Mountain view responded and replaced the pole. Several residents and businesses throughout the city experienced interruptions in electricity service. Precise details on the extent of the damage and the work necessary to repair the broken pole were not available at press time.
