Six-Month Totals from WSPD

In the first six months of 2020, Willow Springs Police officers have:
-Investigated 23 motor vehicle accidents, most of which occurred on City streets and did not involve injuries
-Made 353 arrests, most of which were city warrants
-Answered 1,163 calls for service, most of which were animal complaints and disturbances
-Issued 555 citations, most of which were speeding or stop sign violations
-Investigated 165 incidents, of which the most common were stealing or theft
In a report furnished to the City Council, Chief Bryan Hogan reported the department recently added a cage to an older patrol unit, is currently pursuing purchasing tasers, and will be looking into grant funding this year for in-car and body cameras.
