Summer Reading Program, All Together Now, at the Mountain View Public Library

Summertime is around the corner and your child is invited to attend the Mountain View Public Library summer reading program, All Together Now. Summer reading is a free program and open to children of all abilities.
The library has planned programs to keep kids engaged in reading and learning all summer. Hearing stories prepares younger children to learn words and build a vocabulary so they will be ready to learn when they enter school. Independent reading is essential for students to become better at reading, spelling and writing.
The library staff has planned programs the kids will enjoy and we are looking forward to providing your child a great summer of reading with new books, a magic show, cooking, crafting and participating in a kid only art show. There is a program on the American Flag by the VFW, learn and observe seeds for gardening and use the new STEAM kits. We hope to see you and your child checking out many of the new books and attending the programs.
Once again, the library has purchased a reading app called Beanstack and it is available to everyone over the next year.  This is an app for you and your child to log your reading as well as do reading challenges and continue all year long. A library staff member will be glad to show you how to access this app. You do not need a library card or come to the library to access the Beanstack app.
The library is a safe place to be for fun and learning. The library staff promotes all kinds of reading material for all kinds of readers.
Stop in and pick up a calendar, get your child a library card and keep them reading to beat the “summer slide” so they will be ready to learn when school starts again.
