Willow Springs Public Library to host 'Launch Party' April 29

It’s Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead at Willow Springs Public Library! On Saturday, April 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Willow Springs Public Library is hosting a “launch party” for the new STEAM Kit program. It’s a hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math celebration. There will be fun things for all ages. Kids and parents will get to try out building kits, robotics kits, math and science games and toys, and more. Participants can enter for drawings for Pizza Americana gift cards and free books.
The library is excited to make these kits available for checkout to patrons beginning May 2. This program is made possible by grant funding from the Willow Springs Rotary Club, The Institute of Museum and Library Services with the Missouri State Library.
On May 2 the Willow Springs Public Library will also begin registration for the Summer Reading Program, “All Together Now,” which will focus on friendship, teamwork, cooperation, kindness, and community. The program and reading contest begins on June 19 and continues through the end of July with activities for PreK through 5th grade on Thursdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Adults, teens, and kids of all ages are encouraged to participate in the reading contest portion of the program. Information, reading logs and registration forms will be available at the library beginning May 2. Registration will close on June 22.
We encourage everyone to make this a summer of reading! Turn off the screens and tune in to a book. Reading keeps our minds sharp. The library staff would be delighted to help you find a new favorite author or fiction genre or a book about a subject you find interesting. Whether it’s gardening or building sheds, lounging by a pool, fishing, camping, kayaking, or hosting a fabulous BBQ; for all your summer fun, there’s a book for that.
