W.P. man caught taking upskirt video of tween

A 39-year-old West Plains man was arrested outside Walmart on August 23 after bystanders witnessed him taking a video under the skirt of a 12-year-old girl. Officers responded and detained David A. Brawley and discovered on his cell phone not only a video of the underage girl, but multiple videos in businesses around West Plains of women seemingly unaware they were being recorded, according to court documents. There were videos of approximately 15 women, secretly taken in public, zooming in on breasts or buttocks, moving the recording phone underneath a skirt. 

 

In a police interview, Brawley admitted to “peeping” at women and intentionally recording them. He said he believed the child he recorded to be over the age of 18. 

 

He was charged on August 24 with invasion of privacy, a felony. Brawley posted a $25,000 bond on August 25. This matter is scheduled for an initial appearance before the Honorable R. David Ray on September 14 at Howell County Courthouse.
