WS Senior Center Offers Tax Prep to Avoid Fraud Claims

Volunteers will be at the Willow Springs Senior Center on February 5 and 19 to help seniors fill out their 2020 tax returns, including for rent rebates or property tax credits.

To avoid fraud and theft, Willow Springs Senior Center encourages seniors to file a federal return, even those who are not required to file taxes.

Filing can help ensure that taxpayers’ social security numbers are not used fraudulently.

“We can help you file your return, and if someone is filing on your social security, we can help notify the IRS of this fraud,” Jeanette Petro, senior age tax preparer stated.

Call Wilma at the Willow Springs Senior Center at 417-469-3892 to make an appointment. COVID-19 restrictions apply.

When you arrive, stay in your vehicle. Someone will come out to you. Bring your own pen, and please wear a mask.
