WSHS alum promoted to VP position for The Coca-Cola Company

Gary McElyea, Willow Springs High School Class of 2002, has been promoted to a vice-president position at the Coca-Coly Company in Europe. 

 

McElyea, currently based in Dublin, Ireland will lead the multinational corporation’s pan-European Public Policy & Government Affairs agenda, reported O’Dwyer’s on July 10. In his new role, the former Willow Springs Bear will support Coca-Cola’s key priorities and partnerships in Europe.

 

McElyea has been with the Coca-Cola Company since 2011. He most recently served as the head of public affairs & communications for the Company's operations in Great Britain & Ireland, he reports. Before joining Coca-Cola, he served as an advisor and spokesman for elected officials in Missouri, including Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder. He began his career working at Ozark Radio Network, KTTS and KADI.

 

McElyea is a graduate of the Leadership Missouri program and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Missouri State University. He lives now in Ireland with his wife Alison and their two daughters.
