MSU-WP recognizes employees Dawn Dionne, center, food services manager at Missouri State University-West Plains, received a Staff Excellence in University Service Award during the annual Staff Service Awards program Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Missouri State University in Springfield. The award is given to full-time staff members "who have made significant contributions to the university community. They strive to do their jobs well on a daily basis, go above and beyond the call of duty in a special situation and have contributed in a significant way to the success of the university." Jimmie Reed, left, groundskeeper and general maintenance worker at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP), officially retired from his position April 1 after 23 years of full-time service. Reed was hired as a Custodian I in the physical plant on Jan. 3, 2000. On July 1, 2005, his job was reclassified as Groundskeeper/General Maintenance Worker. Reed received a certificate noting his years of service and a pocket watch from MSU-WP Chancellor Dennis Lancaster. Above, Lancaster presents the certificate to Reed. Several staff members at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) were recognized for their years of service to the university during the annual Employee Recognition Luncheon March 17 at the West Plains Civic Center. Awards are handed out annually to university employees who have reached one of the five-year milestones of service to the Missouri State University System. The honorees were congratulated by MSU-WP Chancellor Dennis Lancaster and MSU System President Clif Smart, both of whom celebrated their own service milestones.
