A camper was reported stolen from a residence on County Road 4420 in Pomona. The camper had not been located at report time.
A woman reported that after recently renewing her license plate tabs, the one on the rear of the vehicle had been stolen.
A routine traffic stop was conducted on State Route AB in West Plains. During the stop, Corporal Derek Hughston seized suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and one female in the vehicle was placed under arrest, pending formal charges.
June 2
A domestic assault was reported at a residence on County Road 6420 in Pottersville. After the victim gave a voluntary statement, the suspect in the assault was taken into custody, pending charges for fourth degree domestic assault. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor.
A deceased male was reported at a residence on County Road 7630 in Pottersville. An investigation determined that the man died from natural causes.
State Beauty Supply in West Plains reported a license plate stolen from one of the company’s vehicles. The license plate was entered into the system as stolen.
A traffic stop on Private Road 6922 in West Plains resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription narcotics and drug paraphernalia. One female at the scene was placed under arrest, pending formal charges.
June 3
A man reported that a handgun was stolen from his travel trailer, while it was being worked on at a local shop. The gun was entered into the system as stolen.
A woman reported being threatened by her ex-husband, in connection to a child custody arrangement. The woman did not wish to pursue charges, but did want to report the incident.
A high speed pursuit was initiated after an attempted routine traffic stop on State Route BB in West Plains. The pursuit was terminated, due to a flat tire on Corporal Derek Hughston’s patrol car. Contact was later made with the driver, and several citations were issued.
June 4
A suitcase was reported found behind State Beauty Supply in West Plains. The suitcase contained jewelry and other items that had been stolen from a residence on County Road 4000. The suitcase and contents were returned to the rightful owner. A report was taken, and the investigation continues.
A man reported a burglary of a residence he owns, on County Road 4000 in West Plains. Several items were reported stolen. The investigation continues.
June 5
Deputy Seth Smith was on regular patrol on State Route AB in West Plains , when he came across a vehicle that was stopped in the road and honking the horn. The driver was stopped, and was found to be impaired. The female driver was arrested and taken to the Howell County Jail.
A woman reported that someone she knows took her debit card. A report was taken.
A verbal domestic disturbance was reported at a residence on County Road 2440 in Pomona. A suspect at the scene resisted, but was eventually secured in a patrol car. Illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found on the suspect’s property and person following the arrest. Formal charges are pending.
A burglary was reported at a residence on County Road 3280. The case remains under investigation.
June 8
A woman reported the unauthorized use of her debit card. The victim stated that her debit card was among several items that she had previously reported stolen. The woman provided a printed copy of her bank transactions, including those that were not made by her.
A Pomona man reported an attempt of identity theft. The man stated that he had received a phone call from a male that stated he was with the Drug Enforcement Agency. The call was determined to be a scam.
A vehicle was reported stolen from a residence on State Route W in Mountain View. The female subject stated that the vehicle, a 2011 Nissan Cube, had been taken by her son.
June 9
Four catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles that were parked at an auto repair shop on County Road 6460 in West Plains. Surveillance footage has been obtained, but a suspect has not yet been identified.
An assault between two inmates took place at the Howell County Jail. One inmate was transported to the hospital with a head injury. Charges have been filed for first degree assault.
A resident on Private Road 2018 in West Plains reported the violation of an order of protection for an adult. Charges were forwarded to the county prosecutor.
A K-9 unit located illegal narcotics in a vehicle during a traffic stop on County Road 8830 in West Plains. The vehicle had been stopped for displaying license plates that belonged to another vehicle. Charges were forwarded to the county prosecutor.
June 10
A West Plains man reported the theft of an ATV. The vehicle was entered into the system as stolen.
A West Plains woman reported damage to rabbit cages at her residence on Private Road 2018. As a result of the damage, some of the rabbits were also missing.
June 11
A man reported several firearms and some ammunition stolen from his residence on County Road 1770. The matter is under investigation.
June 13
Deputy Seth Smith was dispatched to a home on State Route 17 in West Plains for a report of a seventy-year-old male that was not breathing. Upon arrival, it was determined that the man was deceased. An investigation was conducted.
