Howell County Fire Engine Rally to be held Oct. 8

The Howell County Fire Engine Rally will be held Saturday, Oct. 8. If rain delay is needed, it will be held the following Saturday, Oct. 15 on the same time schedule.

Breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the West Plains Station Fire Station 1. Breakfast will be provided by the Howell County Commission. An appreciation plaque will be presented at Southern Hills parking lot after the Tri-County Funeral Assistance Team has placed the flag and the National Anthem has been completed. The games will begin shortly after.

The Parade line-up will begin on Kissinger Street in front of the West Plains Station 1 at 8:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. The parade will run from Kissinger St. to Porter Wagoner Blvd. to West Main, turning right onto Preacher Roe, proceeding to Southern Hills parking lot behind Murphy's USA.

The games will begin at 9:45 a.m. Teams can be made up of multiple departments if needed. Teams cannot have the same participant on another team for that same game. The games will consist of Reverse Hose Lay, 5 Man Alarm, 6-Man Team Tug of War, 6-Man Team Truck (Engine) Pull, and the 6-Man Team Bucket Brigade

The Howell County Rural Auxiliary will be selling hot dogs, chips, cookies and water throughout the day. There will also be a kettle corn vendor. Throughout the day there will be competition events for kids.
