Who's Running for Office?

City governments
Willow Springs
Incumbent Alderman Phil Knott is the only candidate who filed for municipal office in Willow Springs in the first week of filing. Knott filed on Dec. 6 at 9:06 a.m., according to City Clerk Heather Duddridge.
In addition to Knott’s seat, the Mayor Brooke Fair’s seat and the seat currently held by Alderman Danny Bradley will be on the ballot on April 4. 
Candidate filing will continue through Dec. 27 at 5:00 p.m. Filing will be available during regular hours at Willow Springs City Hall.
Mountain View 
In the opening week of filing, Steven Sills filed for the office of East Ward alderman on Dec. 6 at 8:03 a.m., according to City Clerk Shannon Elliot. Brenda Colter filed for the office of West Ward alderman on Dec. 8 at 9:45 a.m.
These candidates are seeking the aldermen seats currently held by Laura Wagner and Punkie Stevenson, respectively. 
Candidate filing will be open through Dec. 27 at Mountain View City Hall.
West Plains
There are two seats up for election in West Plains: the mayor's seat and the seat currently held by Councilman Josh Cotter, both four-year terms. Mayor Mike Topliff filed for reelection on Dec. 6. Greg Collins is currently the only contender for the City Council seat. He filed Dec. 12. 
Candidates may file until 5:00 p.m. Dec. 27.
 
 
School boards
Willow Springs R-IV
Incumbents Matt Hobson and Adam Webb both filed for reelection on Dec. 6. On Dec. 7, Larry Huitt also filed. Incumbent member Brent Colley's term is also setto expire in April. Filing will continue until Dec. 27 in the Hicks House on the main campus. 
Mountain View-Birch Tree RIII 
Eric Wells and Shelly Mantel filed for reelection to the RIII school board in the opening week of filing, confirms the school district. A new candidate, Tyler W. Newton, filed on Dec. 6 at 10:45 a.m. In addition to Wells’ and Mantel’s seats, Keith Tharp’s seat is also up for election on April 4. 
Candidate filing will continue through Dec. 27 during the district's regular business hours. Filing will not occur from Dec. 19 through 26 when the school district's offices are closed for holidays. The district office will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Dec 27. 
West Plains R-VII
After the first week of filing, incumbents Jack "Lee" Freeman, Christena Silvey Coleman, and Warren "Reid" Grigsby have filed for reelection. They are challenged by Jodie Purgason and Scott Tuma. Candidate filing will continue through Dec. 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
