Calls for Service

March 20

Officer Barrett responded to a business on North US Hwy 63 for a report of stealing. The reporting party relayed tools were taken from a vehicle while parked at the business. This case is under investigation.

Officer Joel Lovelace took a report of burglary and property damage from Aid Avenue.

Animal Control Officer Brad Jones responded to Bartley Street for a report of dangerous dogs running at large. He contacted the owners and issued a complaint summons.

Officer Keepes responded to Car-Mart for a report of lost dealer license plates.

Officer Stephens took possession of found property discovered at the city pool. The property will be held for 30 days.

March 21

Officer Ivie Powell spoke with an individual reporting they left their watch at a business. When they returned, they could not locate the watch and reported it as stolen. The investigation will continue.

While on routine patrol, an employee of Rent-A-Center reported to Officer Powell that someone took merchandise from the back deck of the business. The matter remains under investigation.

Officer Keepes responded to Westgate Realty in response to a report of theft. An employee relayed that an item at a newly built home in the area of Westway Drive is missing. This case case is being further investigated by the West Plains Detective Division. 

Officer Jacob Brixey took a report of stealing that occurred in the 300 block of Walker Street. The case is closed, pending further investigation. 

March 22

Animal Control Officer Jones received a report of a dog running at large on Monks Street. He captured the animal and transported it to the animal control facility. ACO Jones located the owners and issued them a citation for dog running at large and failing to register the dog with the city. 

Officers responded to Missouri Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived on the scene, and a subject refused to comply. Officer Brixey used force to restrain the individual. He released the subject with a summons to court.

Officers responded to US Highway 63 for a report of a hit and run. They identified a suspect. Charges are being forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.  

Officer Heuchelin took a report of stealing from Seventh Street.

March 23

ACO Jones returned to Bartley Street for a report of dangerous dogs running at large. He contacted the owners and issued a complaint summons.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Saint Louis and Thornburgh.  The vehicle failed to yield, and officers terminated the pursuit due to the motorcycle traveling at unsafe speeds down residential streets. Officers identified the suspect, and formal charges are being forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office. 

Officer Stephens responded to a residence on Olive Street for a peace disturbance. No charges will be filed in this incident.

Officer Powell responded to Preacher Roe in reference to a theft report with the suspect being detained. He spoke with the reporting party who advised the suspect had not scanned all the items they had and proceeded to leave without paying for them. Officer Powell issued a citation for stealing and escorted the subject out of the store. This matter will be forwarded to the West Plans Municipal Prosecutor. 

March 24

Officer Connor Burnes responded to a report of a runaway juvenile on Olden Street. He located the juvenile and later took them to the hospital for a mental evaluation. This case is still under investigation. 

March 25

Officer Lovelace responded to Woodland Avenue for a report of a verbal domestic in progress. He completed a for documentation purposes.

March 26

Cpl. Wesley Stuart met with an individual who wished to report a vehicle being damaged by a known individual. Charges for property damage will be submitted as soon as the cost to repair the vehicle can be determined.  

Officers responded to Missouri Avenue in reference to a collision involving a parked motor vehicle. They treated one individual for injuries they suspected to be intoxicated. 

Officer Heuchelin responded to South Thayer Ave for a suicidal individual self-harming. They called EMS and transported the individual to OZH ER.
